About Tanisha
Tanisha Butler joined Chancery Legal Ltd. in March 2024. Since joining the firm, Tanisha has worked diligently to build a general practice utilizing her considerable experience as a litigator and advocate before the Magistrates’ and Supreme Courts of Bermuda.
Ms. Butler is a dedicated, highly motivated lawyer who uses sound judgment and possesses a genuine understanding of emotional intelligence when interacting with the clients she represents. She leads with compassion, reinforced by a sound aptitude for the law.
Despite being three years called, Tanisha has a wealth of experience. For over a decade, Tanisha worked as a State Certified Paralegal in the U.S. specializing in the areas of matrimonial law, social security defense, foreclosure enforcement, and regulatory compliance. After returning to Bermuda, she obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University in 2017 and completed the Legal Practice Course through the University of Law in 2020, before being called to the Bermuda Bar in 2021. Tanisha is passionate about her community, and her keen awareness of the needs of her people make her a fierce advocate who naturally conveys empathy.
Tanisha’s passionate pursuit toward fairness and justice are reflected in the rapport she builds with clients and fellow associates. Born and raised in the heart of Pembroke Parish, Tanisha prides herself in being the people’s lawyer – “Of the People and For the People” – a true sister of the soil.
